KERSHAW MODEL 1080 Skinning Knife
We were seeking a small hunting knife that was basically streamlined and without bulk. We wanted this knife to take up as little room as possible when worn on our waist belt, so as not to interfere and be burdensome as we stood up, sat down or otherwise moved about while using our climbing tree stand. If we instead chose to store the knife in our fanny pack while deer hunting, a smaller knife would help us save room in there for other things, such as a bit of food. We wanted a nice leather belt sheath because we like leather sheaths. We also wanted this knife to be good at what hunting knives should be good at, field dressing and skinning deer and/or other game animals. We feel the Kershaw® model 1080 Skinning Knife is just the ticket as far as the foregoing needs are concerned, based on our recent field testing of one of these knives during a NJ archery season deer hunt.
The model 1080 features a strong, simple design that functions extremely well. High performance Sandvik 14C28N blade steel and full-tang construction makes it corrosion resistant, durable and sturdy. G-10 handle scales—in basic black—ensure a secure grip. The blade length is 2 3/8 inches and the overall length is 6 inches. Made in USA. Handsome leather belt sheath included.
MSRP is $54.95 and Bee-Barb’s price is $29.79.
